DMR Relay Team Sets Record at Yale
Central's distance medley relay team broke a school record on day one of the Giegengack Invite.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team wrapped up day one at the Giegengack Invitational in record setting fashion. Yale University hosted the unscored meet at Coxe Cage in New Haven, CT on Friday, February 3rd.
Central's distance medley relay team comprised of sophomores Elizabeth Eberhardt and Shavonne Dash, seniors Amanda Asaro and Alasia Griebel finished the event in a record setting time of 11:44.38. The time broke the CCSU DMR school record of 12:18.17 previously set by Asaro, Eberhardt, senior Kate McGuire, and sophomore Megan MacBryde last season. The team placed second.
The high jump was highlighted by freshman Ronea Saunders who sealed the second place spot with a height of 1.65m. Senior Amy Sanjurjo ran her way into the top-ten of the 200m finishing the event in 26.21, a seventh place seat.
Central will be back in action on Saturday, February 4th for the final day of the Giegengack Invitational.
