Two Blue Devils Make All-NEC First Team
Central posted five NEC Indoor All-Conference selections.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field posted five NEC Indoor All-Conference selections. Two of the five selections were named to the first team, one to the second team, and two to the All-Rookie team. The Northeast Conference release was announced on Monday, March 12th.
Representing the Blue Devils on the NEC All-Conference first team was Senior Alasia Griebel who posted a 4:52.63 time in the one mile. Also recognized on the first team was Central's DMR team made up of Griebel, senior Amanda Asaro, sophomores Elizabeth Eberhardt and Shavonne Dash. The team recorded an impressive time of 12:03.70 in the distance medley relay.
In the field, freshman Ronea Saunders was honored on the All-Conference second team for her performance in the high jump (1.73m). Saunders was also recognized on the All-Rookie team. Freshman Shannon McBride ran the 3,000m in 10:47.00, joining Saunders on the All-Rookie team.
