Day One at New Englands, Women's T&F 9th
Central placed third in the distance medley relay.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team finished in ninth place after day one of the New England Championships. Central posted 11 points on opening day of meet competition.
Placing third in the distance medley relay was the Blue Devil squad of sophomores Elizabeth Eberhardt and Shavonne Dash as well as seniors Amanda Asaro and Alasia Griebel. They turned in a time of 11:50.66.
Senior Amy Sanjurjo performed for the Blue Devils in the field. She posted a distance of 5.39m in the long jump, good for fourth place.
Freshman Chantelle Deer achieved a new personal best time in the 500m running the event in 1:17.34. This marked placed Deer in eighth.
Competition will resume Saturday, February 25th on day two of the New England Championships.
