Trainor Qualifies for 2015 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships
CCSU standout will run in the steeplechase on Saturday.
Austin Trainor of the Central Connecticut men's track and field team has qualified for the 2015 USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships to be held at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, OR, on June 25-28.
Trainor qualified for the steeplechase and is scheduled to race on Saturday, June 27, at 5:17 p.m. Pacific Time. Trainor was the runner-up in the steeplechase at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships this spring. He posted a time of 9:35.05 to help the Blue Devils win their second consecutive NEC title. As a freshman this spring, he also placed second at the New England Outdoor Championships after running a personal-record 9:12.05.
COLLEGIANS COMPETING AT JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The USATF Junior Championships are limited to athletes who will not turn 20 years old until at least 2016. The Junior Championships will take place in conjunction with the USATF Outdoor Championships.
