Central Runs on Day Two of New Englands
The Central Connecticut men's track & field team stands in 31st place
The Central Connecticut men's track & field team stands in 31st place with five points after the second day of the New England Championships.
Junior Michael Waterbury marked down a 15th place finish in the 800m crossing the line at 1:54.04.
The Blue Devil 4x800m relay team comprised of freshman Joey Farrington, freshman Brian Biekert, Waterbury, and senior Robert Weston competed the event in 7:56.16, good for 13th place.
In the field, senior Nick Trifone registered a height of 1.90m (6'2.75") which placed him 12th in the event.
Junior Jon Krell and freshman Matt Walker both competed in the 10,000m on Saturday. The Blue Devil duo finished back-to-back in the race, Krell finishing sixth 31:52.37 and Walker seventh 31:58.05.
IC4A Championships
On day two of the IC4A Championships, senior Matt Berube placed 25th in the long jump posting a distance of 6.91m (22'8.00").
The Blue Devil 4x100m relay team of juniors Elijah Boles, Aaron Radden, Dan Hopper, and freshman Jamal Fruster ran the event in a time of 41.67, good for 13th place.
Radden also ran the preliminary rounds of the 100m and 200m events on Saturday. He recorded a time of 21.22 in the 200m which placed him third, qualifying for the event's final heat on Sunday. The junior placed 12th in the 100m prelim heat with a time of 10.72 but missed the qualification requirement by .04 seconds.
