Radden Second Team All-American
Aaron Radden was named to the 2012 Indoor Track & Field All-American Second team.
Central Connecticut men's track & field sprinter Aaron Radden was named to the 2012 USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-American Second Team on Monday. He was one of 272 athletes in the country who earned either first or second team accolades on the men's side. Radden was ranked 10th nationally in the 200m prior to the 2012 NCAA Championships and entered the meet as the nine seed.
The junior finished 10th in the 200m at the NCAA Championships on Friday, March 9th. Radden ran the preliminary round in a time of 21.06 just missing the cut to qualify for the finals. His time was 10th best at the meet with the fastest eight times advancing to the final heat. The winner of Radden's prelim ran the fastest time in the world this year (20.39).
"This is a great honor not just for Aaron, but also for our entire track & field program." Head coach Eric Blake said of Radden.
Radden holds the top ranking in the Northeast Conference for the 200m event, securing an NEC Individual Championship with his 21.74 time. The performance earned him All-Conference First Team honors.
Radden also earned All-Conference Second Team honors in the 60m (6.93).
