Blue Devils Compete at UCONN

The Central Connecticut men's track & field team competed at the UCONN spring invitational on Saturday. Central opened their 2012 outdoor campaign in Storrs, CT at the unscored meet.
Junior Jon Krell highlighted the 5,000m event for the Blue Devils coming in second place and running a 15:13.53 time. In the same event, freshman Matt Walker finished sixth (15:23.25).
In the field for the Blue Devils, senior Matt Berube qualified for the IC4A's in the triple jump posting a personal best 14.39m jump, good for second. Berube also jumped 6.78m in the long jump securing a sixth place finish. Sophomore Michael Ficorilli threw the shot 13.29 and finished eighth. Senior Nick Trifone finished seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.89m.
Junior Dan Hopper ran a 51.37 time in the 400m placing sixth. Running a 22.75 time and finishing seventh in the 200m was junior Elijah Boles. Central in the 4x400m relay stamped a third place finish with a time of 3:21.24.
