Delbene, Alexander Compete at Stanford
Colby Delbene placed eighth in the 5,000m.
Senior Sam Alexander and junior Colby Delbene both represented the Central Connecticut men's track & field team at the Palo Alto Invitational Friday. Stanford University played host to the meet in Stanford, CA.
Delbene capped an eighth place finish in the 5,000m with a 14:20.98 time. Delbene finished ahead of ninth place Portland's Colby Wells (14:21.64) and behind seventh place Brayden Barrientez (14:30.29) from Oklahoma Christian.
In the 10,000m, Alexander placed 10th clocking in at a record time of 29:21.06. This mark broke the previous CCSU 10,000m school record of 29:22.00, a record that stood for over 30 years. Alexander finished ahead of Colorado's Martin Medina (29:21.57) and just behind University of Tennessee Chattanooga's Chris Berry (29:19.72).
The Central Connecticut men's track & field team will compete tomorrow at the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational.
