Williams, Radden Pace Blue Devils at Yale
Rashad Williams and Aaron Radden lead the Blue Devils against Yale.
The Central Connecticut track & field team competed at Yale on Saturday in an unscored contest. The meet featured UConn, the University of New Haven, Sacred Heart, Fordham, Southern Connecticut, Hunter, the College of Monroe and others. The 30th annual Yale Intercollegiate Track Classic was held at Coxe Cage in New Haven, CT.
The day started off strong with senior Rashad Williams claiming the weight throw, winning the event with a distance of 17.11m. The win was followed by a first place finish in the triple jump by senior Matt Berube who chalked up a distance of 14.27m.
Junior Aaron Radden placed first in the 60 meter dash in a stellar time of 6.85. Leading the Blue Devils in the 1 mile run was senior Sam Alexander who clocked in at an impressive 4:17.37, good for second place.
It was junior Colby Delbene, freshman Joey Farrington, junior Mike Waterbury, and senior Jeremey Schmid who highlighted the distance medley for Central crossing the line at 10:05.43. This placed the Blue Devils in third place ahead of Yale and right being Fordham.
Freshman Patrick Hubbell excelled in the 800m posting a time of 1:57.44, good for third place. Sophomore Nick Lindblom, Radden, freshman Jamal Fruster, and junior Dan Hopper were seated third as well in the 4x400m relay.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on January 20th, traveling to New York, NY to face off against Albany in the Albany Great Dane Classic.
