Blue Devils Seated Third After Day One
Senior Sam Alexander paced Central on day one of the NEC Championships.
The Central Connecticut men's track & field team finished day one of the Northeast Conference Championships in third place with 24 points. Competition is being held at Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, MD.
A pair of Blue Devils paced Central in the 3,000m finishing in the top five of the event. Senior Sam Alexander and sophomore Craig Hunt finished second (8:24.95) and fourth (8:30.30) respectively.
In the field, senior Nick Trifone excelled in the high jump. Trifone placed fourth recording a height of 1.96m. Freshman Greg Andrade placed eighth (1.91m), also in the high jump. Senior Rashad Williams threw the shot put 16.20m, good for fourth place.
The second and final day of competition will be under way tomorrow starting at 12 p.m.
