Lockery Named NEC Baseball Player of the Week
Junior infielder helped Blue Devils go 3-1 last weekend.
Central Connecticut junior Dean Lockery was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon. Lockery powered the Blue Devils' offense last weekend, helping them to a 3-1 weekend at the Delray Invitational.

Lockery started all four games, accounting for a .632 on-base percentage and eight runs scored. The infielder, who reached base at least twice in every game, batted .533 (8-for-15) with four doubles, one home run and five RBI on the weekend.
Lockery recorded two hits and scored two runs during Friday's 6-4 triumph over South Dakota State. Facing SDSU again on Saturday, Lockery experienced a power surge. He connected on four extra-base hits (three doubles and a homerun) and drove in four runs during the Blue Devils' 15-6 victory. Lockery opened the scoring for CCSU with a two-run double in the first inning and added a solo homer in the fourth. Prior to the four-hit, four-RBI performance on Saturday, he doubled and walked twice in a 6-3 setback to Maine. On Sunday, he helped the Blue Devils defeat Maine by reaching base three times in a 6-3 triumph.
The Blue Devils are off to a 4-1 start and travel to face Oklahoma for a four-game series beginning on Friday, March 3.
