Lockery Earns Baseball All-ECAC Recognition
The Blue Devils play at TCU in the NCAA Regionals on Friday night.
Junior Dean Lockery was named to the baseball Division I All-ECAC Second Team it was announced on Wednesday. Lockery and the Blue Devils qualified for the NCAA Tournament and will face TCU on ESPN3 Friday night.
Lockery, a two-time All-Northeast Conference First Team selection, is hitting a team-high .336 on the team. His 72 hits are the most in the conference and he also set a CCSU single-season record with 52 base on balls, which ranks seventh nationally.
Lockery has started all 53 games this season and he sports a .468 on-base percentage and ranks second on the team with 20 doubles. He has also recorded 50 runs scored, 28 RBIs, two doubles and two triples.
Central Connecticut (36-20) won its fifth NEC title to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils will travel to face sixth-seeded TCU in the Fort Worth Regional. The game will be available on ESPN3 on Friday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
