Baseball Win Streak Stopped on Sunday
The Central Connecticut baseball team had its seven-game winning streak snapped with a 5-0 home loss to Fairfield on Sunday. Central had beaten the Stags on Friday and Saturday. With the loss the Blue Devils are now 17-13-1 overall on the season. They play again on Tuesday hosting UMass beginning at 3 p.m.

Central had beaten the Stags on Friday and Saturday. With the loss

Fairfield took a 4-0 in the first inning. They had five doubles
and brought nine batters to the plate while chasing Central
freshman starter Tom
Coughlin from the game with two outs in the inning.
Neither team would score a run until the Stags made it 5-0 in the
top of the eighth inning. With a man on third, Chris Horning's RBI
single increased the Fairfield lead.
Sophomore Tyler
McIntyre was the only Blue Devils with more than one hit on the
day. He finished the day 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
After Coughlin left the game in the first inning for the Blue
Devils, junior Roy
Natoli pitched 5.1 innings of relief, allowing just a pair of
base runners on two hits, and striking out three.
The Blue Devils return to action at home on Tuesday hosting UMass
beginning at 3 p.m.
