Krasnowiecki was named the Akadema Northeast Conference
Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday. The Rhode Island native threw a
one-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson in the first
game of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
Krasnowiecki made it three impressive pitching performances in a
row when he took the ball on Saturday. Logging his best start of
the season to date, the southpaw stymied a FDU line-up that pushed
across seven runs in a series-opening victory. Krasnowiecki
allowed only one hit over 7.0 innings, going the distance for a 2-0
win.
The senior has allowed only two earned runs and 11 hits in his last
20.0 innings of work, 14.0 of which came against NEC hitters. The
only hit allowed on Saturday courtesy of Joe Martino's leadoff
single to center field in the fifth inning. After a sac bunt
moved Martino to second, Krasnowiecki left him there by notching
back-to-back strikeouts in what was a scoreless game at the
time.
CCSU broke through for the game's first run in the bottom half of
the fifth and added another in the sixth. Meanwhile, Krasnowiecki
continued to put up zeroes on the way to his third win of the
season. He struck out five and walked four while lowering his ERA
to 3.47.
