Brooke Morabito placed eighth in the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday, missing an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship by one finishing spot.
Brooke Morabito finished eighth at the 2024 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday, missing an automatic qualification for the NCAA Championship by one place.
The Central Connecticut women's cross-country team finished 20th as a team, out of 42 participating programs. The race consisted of 268 student-athletes.
Morabito crossed in eighth place with a time of 20:02.90. She was 11th place two-thirds of the way through the 6K race and moved up three spots in the final third. The top four finishers, not on a qualifying team, in each region earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. Morabito was the fifth finisher. The NCAA announces the complete NCAA Championship field tomorrow, that includes at-large individual competitors.
Maegan Desmarais was the Blue Devils second finisher, running 22:02.13 to cross 121st. Mya Morabito finished 144th in a time of 22:19.18 for the Blue Devils, six spots in front of teammate Juliana Cancellieri who posted a time of 22:23.15.
Rebecca Carusone finished with a 23:09.28 effort, in 200th place. Keira Budge was the sixth finisher, with a time of 23:32.57. Alyssa Carusone was the teams seventh finisher, at 25:29.30.
