3 For Three! Morabito Named Athlete Of The Week Once Again

Graduate runner has earned the NEC weekly honor following each race this season.

For the third time in as many races Brooke Morabito, a graduate student for the Central Connecticut State cross country team, has been named the Northeast Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week. She was joined as an NEC Prime Performer once again by teammate Juliana Cancellieri. The Paul Short Invitational featured nearly 1,300 racers over the course of the day.

Morabito crossed the line seventh in the Gold Race at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational. She was seventh when the field went through the mile mark, but closed well, moving up 14 spots to finish at 20:11.6 over the 6K course.

Cancellieri ran 22:01 at the event, good for 186th place.

The Blue Devils are back in action on Friday afternoon at the New England Championships.
