
Four-for-Four! Morabito NEC Athlete Named Athlete Of The Week Once Again
Grad student won the New England Championships individual title.
For the fourth time in as many races this fall, Central Connecticut State graduate student Brooke Morabito has been named the Northeast Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week. She was joined on the NEC Prime Performer list by Julianna Cancellieri and Mya Morabito who combined to lead the Blue Devils to a fourth-place team finish at the event.
Brooke Morabito, a native of New Milford, CT, is the first Blue Devil in program history to win the individual crown at the New England Championship. She racn a winning time of 16:53.18, 20 seconds clear of the runner-up.
Mya Morabito was the Blue Devils second finisher in the race, crossing in 18th place in the race the featured 211 athletes at the start, with a time of 18:19.37. Cancelleri was right behind her teammate, in 19th palce, with a time of 18:26.76.
The Blue Devils are off this weekend before hosting the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 25th. The following Friday, November 1st, CCSU will host the 2024 NEC Championship. Both meets will be held at Stanley Quarter Park.
