Women's Cross Country Tabbed Tops In NEC Coaches Poll
Blue Devils earned four first place votes to sit atop the preseason poll
The Central Connecticut State University women's cross country team was picked to as the Northeast Conference favorite it was announced on Tuesday. The Blue Devils narrowly topped the vote, collecting four first-place votes, while Stonehill got four first-place votes and Wagner got one.
- Head coach Eric Blake has guided the Blue Devils to five NEC titles since 2018.
- Stonehill ended a run of five straight league titles by CCSU last season.
- Central has had seven of the last 10 individual medalists dating back to 2014.
- The Blue Devils open the season at UMass in the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on August 31.
- CCSU will host the Ted Owen Invitational (Sep. 21) and CCSU Mini Meet (Oct. 25).
- The 2024 NEC Championships will be held in New Britain, CT, at Stanley Quarter Park on November 1.
