Morabito Named NEC Cross Country Athlete Of The Week
Cancellieri earns Prime Performer
Brooke Morabito, for the second time in as many races, has been named the Northeast Conference women's cross-country athlete of the week. She was joined by Juliana Cancellieri as an NEC Prime Performer.
Morabito, a native of New Milford, CT, captured the individual title at the 20th Annual Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday. It gives the graduate student two races wins in as many outings this fall. Morabito ran 16:51, two seconds shy of the course record, and won the race by 33 seconds over the runner-up.
Cancellieri was the Blue Devils second finisher, running 18:17 to place 12th, to help CCSU to a second-place team finish.
The Blue Devils return to action on October 5th when they travel to Lehigh for the Paul Short Invitational.
