Patterson Earns All-NEC Second Team Honor
Kiana Patterson lead Central with 16.1 points per game this season.
Central Connecticut senior team co-captain Kiana Patterson was announced as a 2019 All-Northeast Conference Second Team selection on Monday morning by the league's office. Patterson led the Blue Devils in scoring, putting up 16.1 points per game and dishing out 2.7 assists per contest. She also made the All-NEC Second Team as a junior.
In the Northeast Conference, the Troy, NY native ranks fourth in three-point field goals made (71), sixth in scoring (16.1 ppg), 10th in free throw percentage (.750), and 11th in three-point field goal percentage (.357). The senior was honored as the NEC Player of the Week on December 10 this year.
This year, Patterson hit the 1,000 point milestone after dropping 25 points against Rutgers on November 13. She ended her career with a total of 1,410 making her the third all time leading scorer in CCSU women's basketball history. The star shooter is also first in the record books for most single-season three-pointers (80, 2017-18) and seventh for most single-season points (450, 2018-19).
This season, the Blue Devils finished 7-21 overall and 4-14 in NEC play. In eight games Patterson scored 20 points or more and dropped a career-high 28 points against Albany on December 5.
