Women's Basketball Faces Wagner Saturday

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team faces the Seahawks of Wagner College on Saturday, Feb. 16 inside the Spiro Sports Center in Staten Island, NY. Tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and fans can follow the game live on ESPN+. The Blue Devils recently fell to the Robert Morris 60-40 on Monday in Moon Township, PA. Sophomore Ashley Berube recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Blue Devils started out stron leading by five after the first quarter and trailing by just three at halftime, but went cold shooting below 25.0 percent in the second half.
Wagner recently erased a 15-point third quarter deficit to beat St. Francis Brooklyn 87-85. The Seahawks outscored the Terriers 23-13 in the final nine minutes of the game and Taylah Simmons had the game-winning jump shot to help Wagner earn its sixth NEC win putting them at fifth in the conference standings. Additionally, the win was the third in a row for the Seahawks.

Last Time Against the Seahawks • Central dropped a 75-63 decision to Wagner on Jan. 7 in New Britain, CT. Senior Kiana Patterson led the team with 17 points and sophomore Ashley Berube recorded 11 points, five rebounds, five blocks, and one assist. The Seahawks pushed the lead to 17 with 3:24 to play and went onto win the game by 12.
