Central Welcomes Robert Morris on MLK Day
CCSU CommUNITY Day will be a double-header with the women at 1 p.m followed by the men at 3:30 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts Robert Morris on MLK Day in New Britain, CT on Monday, Jan. 21. The women tip off at 1:00 p.m. followed by the men's game at 3:30 p.m. The day is CCSU Community Day and all students and teachers will be admitted FREE to the games. There will be giveaways, pizza, entertainment and more throughout the day as well.
Tickets for CCSU home games can be purchased at CCSUTickets.com or at the box office upon entry to Kaiser Hall and Detrick Gymnasium. All CCSU home games and Northeast Conference games are available to watch online, for free, at NECFrontRow.com.
Central earned its first Northeast Conference win over Saint Francis U Saturday scoring a season-high 73 points led by Kiana Patterson who scored 27 points shooting 5-11 (.455) from three-point range. The team had 17 assists on 27 field goals and shot 57.7 percent in the second half to lift past the Red Flash 73-62.
The preseason favorite Robert Morris is still undefeated in conference play. With a two-point lead with 33 seconds remaining, junior Nadège Pluviose blocked Bryant's leading scorer Sydney Holloway at the rim, allowing them to defeat the Bulldogs 60-57. RMU is led by Nneka Ezeigbo who averages 9.9 ppg and 6.8 rebounds per game.
