Women's Golf 6th After Two Rounds at Delaware
Blue Devils will finish the tournament with round three on Sunday
Sophomore Ella Williams fired rounds of 78 and 80 in the first two rounds of the UD Lady Blue Hen Invitational on Saturday, helping to put the Blue Devils in sixth place out of 10 teams heading into the final round on Sunday. Central shot a two round score of 650 and is sixth in the 10-team field.
The tournament is being played at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Williams shot 78 in the first round and it was the best round of the day for the Blue Devils. She followed it up with an 80 in the second round and sits in a tie for 11th place overall in the tournament. Junior Sarah Boden shot 81-81 and is tied for 22nd with a two round score of 162.
Freshman Cecy Gutierrez shot 83-85 and is tied for 39th place. Sophomore Kaitlyn Stoddart shot 90 in the first round but rebounded to lead the Blue Devils with a second round score of 80. She is tied for 42nd, along with freshman teammate Tara Whelan. Whelan shot 84-88.
Georgetown leads the tournament with a team score of 610, followed by Penn (624), Delaware (628), Towson (637) and Richmond (645). Central is sixth, ahead of LIU Brooklyn, Delaware (B), Navy and Delaware State.
The third and final round will tee off on Sunday morning.
