Women's Golf Fourth at Rutgers
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished the first day of the Rutgers Invitational in fourth place with a score of 318 strokes.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished the first day of the Rutgers Invitational in fourth place with a score of 318 strokes. The Blue Devils were led by freshman Tara Whelan who shot a 75 to tie for fifth place. Whelan is just four shots behind the leader.
The tournament is being played on the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway Township, NJ.
Junior Sarah Boden, sophomore Kaitlyn Stoddart and freshman Cecy Gutierrez each carded an 81 in the round. All three Blue Devils are part of a tie for 35th in the individual standings.
Sophomore Ella Williams rounded out the Blue Devil squad with an 84. She is tied for 64th.
The Blue Devils are 18 strokes behind Rutgers (300) and also trail Saint Francis U (306) and LIU Brooklyn (307). Their are 17 teams in the field for the invitational.
The invitational will conclude tomorrow, Oct. 11.
