Women's Golf Competes at Day One of Pirate Invitational
Day two will take place on Friday
The Central Connecticut women's golf team competed in the first round on Thursday at the 2015 Pirate Invitational being hosted by Seton Hall University. The tournament is taking place at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. The course is a par 72 and measures 5,802 yards.
Junior Sarah Boden led the way for the Blue Devils with a first round score of 86. She sits in a tie for 52nd place. Sophomore Kaitlyn Stoddart fired an 87 (t54th), as did freshman Cecy Gutierrez.
Sophomore Ella Williams shot 92 and freshman Tara Whelan shot a 97 to round out the scoring for the Blue Devils in the first round. Central is in 11th place overall after a team score of 352.
Georgia leads the tournament with a score of 297, three shots better than Princeton (300). Columbia is third (315), followed by Seton Hall (318) and Pennsylvania (319) round out the top five.
The second and final day of the tournament will take place on Friday morning.
