Women's Golf in Sixth After Day Two of NECs

The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a second day score of 326 and sits in sixth place after the second round of the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship being held in Daytona Beach, FL. The third and final round of the tournament will take place on Sunday. The tournament is being played at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL.
Wagner College leads for the second straight round after firing a score of 316 on Saturday. Fairleigh Dickinson is second, followed by LIU Brooklyn, St. Francis U, Sacred Heart, CCSU and then St. Francis Brooklyn.
Central's two-day score of 644 is only 14 strokes off the lead and six shots behind third place.
Sophomore Ella Williams leads the Blue Devils and sits in seventh place overall. She shot a second round of 78, the fourth-lowest individual score of the day, to sit at 157 after two rounds, just seven shots back of second place.
Freshman Tara Whelan is tied for 15th place overall after shooting an 82 to add to her round one score of 80. Her 162 is just five shots back of Williams.
Freshman Cecy Gutierrez shot 84 and sits in a tie for 17th place with a two round score of 164. right behind her is sophomore teammate Kaitlyn Stoddart who shot an 86 in round two after a 79 in the first round.
Junior Sarah Boden shot an 82 and improved eight strokes from her first round score. She is tied for 29th place overall.
The third and final round will tee off on Sunday morning.
