Men's Golf Finishes 12th at Connecticut Cup
Anthony Sebastianelli is the top Blue Devils with a score of 222
Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli shot a round three score of -1 (71) on Tuesday in the third and final round of The Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club and was the to finisher for the Central Connecticut men's golf team. The Blue Devils finished in 12th place overall out of 16 teams after shooting a team score of 308 on Tuesday.
Sebastianelli's 71 was the best round of the two-day tournament for the Blue Devils. He improved in each of the three rounds, shooting 76-75 on Monday in the first two rounds, and finishing with a score of 222 (+6), good for a tie for 24th place overall.
TCU won the team title by 17 shots, finishing at -19 (845) over their three rounds. Boston College and Dartmouth were tied for second (862), followed by UConn (873) and Bryant (882) in the top five.
Seniors Connor Murphy and Jack Ayers each tied for 58th place overall after three round scores of 232 (+16). Murphy shot a 79 on Tuesday while Ayers fired an 80.
Sophomore Brandon Raine shot a 79 on Tuesday and shot 233 (+17) for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 63rd place overall. Junior Matthew Mahlke also shot 79 and finished at 235 (+19), good for a tie for 71st place.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 25-26, at the NEIGA Championships at the Captain's Course in Brewster, MA.
