Men's Golf Ties for 4th at Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate
Central will play at the Leo Keenan Invitational on September 20 and 21.
Central Connecticut's men's golf team opnened the fall season by tying for fourth at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT. The Blue Devils shot a 289 (+1) in the final round to improve by eight shots and move up the leaderboard.

Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli shot a 68 (-4) on the second day to finish the tournament at -2 (74-68) and tie for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Brandon Raine posted a 70 (-2) to also finish under par for the round. He finished the two-day event at +3 (77-70) and was tied for 21st.
Junior Nick Direda finished at +4 (73-75), while senior Jack Ayers (+6, 74-76) and sophomore Austin Forauer (+10, 76-78) rounded out the rest of the CCSU scoring. Junior Matthew Mahlke competed as an individual and finished at +8 (74-80).
The University of Rhode Island won the event after shooting a 282 (-6) as a team on Sunday to finish at 574 (292-282) and hold off Bryant (287-288) by one stroke. Saint Francis U. (578) finished third. CCSU and Fordham tied with a score of 586 and were followed by Sacred Heart (588), Hofstra (589), Laval University (589), Fairfield (597), LIU Brooklyn (602), Holy Cross (603) and UMass Lowell (618).
Shane Crampton of Saint Francis U. shot a 67 (-5) on Sunday to finish the weekend at -3 and share the individual medalist honors. Rhode Island's Joe Leavitt (72-69) and Bryant's Joe Walp (69-72) also finished atop the leaderboard at -3.
The Blue Devils will next compete at the Leo Keenan Collegiate Invitational on September 20 and 21 at Bartlett Country Club in Olean, NY.
