Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at NEC Championships
Sebastianelli leads Blue Devils with eighth place finish
The Central Connecticut men's golf team shot a day three total of 299 and moved to sixth place during the third and final round of the Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championship on Sunday. Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli shot 76 on the final day and finished in eighth place with a three round score of 218.
The championships were held at the LPGA International Jones Course in Daytona Beach, FL.
The Blue Devils shot a three day score of 901 to finish in sixth place overall.
Bryant and Wagner tied for first place and the Seahawks prevailed in a playoff to claim the NEC title. Bryant finished second.
Sacred Heart was third (880), followed by Robert Morris (883), St. Francis University (893), CCSU, Fairleigh Dickinson and LIU Brooklyn tied for seventh (902) and St. Francis Brooklyn was ninth (1033).
Sebastianelli led the Blue Devils and entered the final round in second place overall. He shot 76 on Sunday to finish at 218.
Senior Jack Ayers finished tied for 20th place after a round of 74 on Sunday and a total of 225 for the tournament. Sophomore Brandon Raine also shot 74 on Sunday and finished at 229, good for a tie for 27th place.
Junior Bryant Bolden shot 75 and finished tied for 31st place with a total of 231. Classmate Nick Direda shot his best round of the tournament, 76, and finished at 233, goof for a tie for 35th place overall.
