Men's Golf Tied for 7th After Round 1 at Ryan T. Lee Memorial Tournament
The Blue Devils will tee off the second round beginning at 11:50 a.m. Sunday.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team opened its fall season on Saturday in the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Tournament at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT. The Blue Devils are tied for seventh as a team following the first round and were led by junior Nick Direda who shot a 73 (+1) to tie for 12th.

Direda posted two birdies on the back nine to shoot a 35 and finish the round at one over, just four shots behind the leaders.
Senior Jack Ayers (74) and sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli (74) are tied for 20th after round one, while sophomores Austin Forauer (76) and Brandon Raine (77) rounded out the CCSU contingent. Junior Matthew Mahlke is competing as an individual and also shot a 74 in the opening round.
The Blue Devils shot a first round score of 297 and is tied with Fairfield, just one shot behind Sacred Heart.
Bryant leads after the first round after shooting a 287 (-1) as a team. Rhode Island and Fordham are tied for second (292), followed by Saint Francis U. and Laval University (293). LIU Brooklyn (298), Hofstra (299), Holy Cross (304) and UMass-Lowell (315) round out the 12-team field.
The Bulldogs' Joe Walp shot a 69 (-3) and is tied for the individual lead with LIU Brooklyn's Rodrigo Munoz and Baptiste Mory of Laval University.
