Blue Devils Finish Competition at Yale Spring Invitational
Sebastianelli leads CCSU with 36-hole total of 154
Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli shot a 36-hole total of 154 as the Central Connecticut men's golf team completed play in the Yale Spring Invitational on Saturday. The tournament was played at the Course at Yale, and consisted of 18 holes in the morning followed by 18 more in the afternoon.
Yale B finished first with a team score of 594, followed by Bucknell (595), Dartmouth (596) Yale A (597) and Cornell (606) in the top five. The Blue Devils finished 13th overall, with a score of 633. Central shot 323 in the first round followed by a round of 310 in the second.
Sebastianelli fired an 80 in the first round and followed that up with a 74 in the second to finish at 154, tied for 32nd place overall. He moved up 20 spots with his second round score.
Senior Jack Ayers and junior Nick Direda each finished tied for 47th place. Ayers was consistent with a 79 in the first round followed by an 80 in round two. Direda shot 78-81 for his 159.
Junior Bryant Bolden shot 86 in the first round and then rebounded in the second to shoot a 75. His 11 shot improvement was the largest of any player in the 70 player field. He finished in a tie for 55th place overall.
The Blue Devils are back at it on Monday, April 18, at the Finegan Invitational at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, PA. The tournament is hosted by LaSalle University.
