Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Leo Keenan Invitational
Anthony Sebastianelli leads Blue Devils finishing tied for 12th place
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in seventh place out of 10 teams at the Leo Keenan Invitational, hosted by St. Bonaventure University, on Monday. The Blue Devils shot a second round score of 296, six strokes better than their round one score on Sunday. The 296 was tied for the fourth-best team score of the day. The tournament was played at Bartlett Country Club.
Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli was the top finisher for the Blue Devils with a two-day score of 147 (74-73). He was tied for 12th place overall. Classmate Austin Forauer also shot a 73 on the second day of action, finishing with a total score of 150 (77-73) and in a tie for 26th place.
Senior Jack Ayers improved one stroke on Monday and shot a 75 to go along with his 76 from Sunday. His total of 151 was tied for 29th place overall.
Sophomore Brandon Raine shot 75-77 and tied for 33rd place, along with junior Nick DiReda who shot 77-75 over the two day tournament.
Drexel University won the team title with a score of 579 (295-284). Their second round score of 284 was just three stokes shy of the best team round ever in the 27-year history of the tournament.
Humber (583) was second, followed by Robert Morris (584), St. Bonaventure (588), Northern Kentucky and St. Francis U (589) and then the Blue Devils (598), Ottawa (605), Lawrence Tech (606) and Niagara (609).
