Men's Golf 10th at Tuxedo Autumn Invitational After Two Rounds
Sebastianelli and Raine lead the Blue Devils through the first two rounds
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished the second round at The Tuxedo Autumn Invitational in 10th place on Friday afternoon. The tournament is being held at The Tuxedo in Tuxedo Park, NY, and is hosted by Columbia University.
Central shot a 311 team score in round one and 313 in round two. After two rounds of play Columbia leads the team standings after shooting 578 (286-292). Drexel (295-284) is one shot behind, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas (592), Lafayette (600) and Bucknell (601) to round out the top five.
Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli led the way for the Blue Devils in the first round. He shot 74 and was tied for ninth place overall. Senior Jack Ayers who 75, while sophomore Brandon Raine shot 76, junior Nick Direda fired an 86 and sophomore Austin Forauer shot 88. The Blue Devils were tied for ninth after the first round.
In the second round, played on Friday afternoon, Raine shot 74 to lead Central. Sebastianelli shot 76 and along with Raine the pair is among a group tied for 18th overall at +8. The Blue Devils shot a 313 team score.
Direda and Forauer improved in the second rounds, shooting 81 and 82, respectively. Ayers shot 84 to close out CCSU's second round scores.
Central tees off final round play at 9:09 a.m. on Saturday.
