
Swimming & Diving Wins At Stony Brook
Blue Devils won six times on Saturday
The Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team went on the road and defeated host Stony Brook University 125-116 in dual action on Saturday.
The Blue Devils won six events on the afternoon.
CCSU returns to action the first weekend of December at the Gompie Invitational.
FREESTYLE
- Abbey Keane swam to a win in the 1,000 free, with a time of 10:32.94, 16 seconds in front of the runner-up
- Gabby Spaciano (1:56.90) and Sophie Milhomens (2:01.82) took second and third in the 200 freestyle
- Katrine O'Leary snagged second in the 50-free style, with a swim of 25.21, just in front of Lauryn Cowing, who was third at 25.39
- Spaciano was second in the 100 freestyle, clocking 54.37
- Keane took second in the 500 freestyle (5:12.34) and Maggie Rutledge was third with a swim of 5:144.30
STROKES
- Gabi Wroblewski won the 400 IM, by nearly nine seconds, touching at 4:37.90
- Kyla Behrle was third with a swim of 4:53.74
- Milhomens won the 200 butterfly, swimming 2:11.48, with Jillena Plowucha second at 2:18.20
- Megan Dunnigan took the top spot in the 200 backstroke, swimming 2:08.46
- Julia Herbert swam to a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke, with a swim of 2:31.98
DIVING
- Kaitlyn Carroll won the 3-meter board, scoring 264.00 points
- Carroll was second on the 1-meter board, tallying 256.85 points, just over three points shy of the top spot
RELAYS
- Milhomens, Julia Herbert, Dunnigan and O'Leary took second in the 400-medley relay, with a swim of 4:07.11
- O'Leary, Cowing, Spaciano and Dunnigan won the 400-freestyle relay, clocking a time of 3:36.53
