Swimming Places 16th At CSCAA Open Water Nationals
Abbey Keane paced the four person effort with a 43rd place finish.
Four members of the Central Connecticut State swim team competed at the 2024 CSCAA National Open Water Championships on Sunday morning at Biscayne Bay in North Miami, FL. The quartet combined to finish 16th with a combined time of 3:44:28.
Abbey Keane led the Blue Devils effort with a swim of 1:05:22.25 to finish in 43rd place. Maggie Rutledge stopped the clock at 1:07:19.26 to place 63rd overall.
Taylor Demarest, 82nd, and Gabby Spaciano, 83rd, finished back-to-back, eight seconds apart, with Demarest clocking 1:10:22.82 and Spaciano, 1:20:30.94.
The event had 19 women's teams and 125 female student-athletes started the race and 108 completed the 5K course.
