
Swimming & Diving Falls To UConn
Rutledge won 1,000 freestyle
The Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team fell 225-75 to visiting UConn Friday evening at Suydam Natatorium. The Blue Devils return to action Saturday at 2:00 pm when they host URI on Senior Day.
DIVING
- Kaitlyn Carroll finished fourth in the 1-meter diving event, scoring 221.55 points
- Carroll scored 226.95 to place third on the 3-meter board, while Zoe Baker claimed fourth with 200.40 points
FREESTYLE
- Maggie Rutledge won the 1,000 freestyle, swimming a time of 10:33.35
- Taylor Demarest was fourth in the 1,000, touching the wall at 10:58.52
- Sophie Milhomens was fourth in the 200 freestyle, going 1:57.40
- Lauryn Cowing was second in the 50 freestyle, going 24.90
- Maggie Rutledge finished fourth in the 100 freestyle, going 55.92
- Gabby Spaciano was third in the 500 freestyle, going 5:14.77
STROKES
- Grace Young was third in the 100 breaststroke, with a swim of 1:08.41
- Gabi Wroblewski touched third in the 200 butterfly, with a time of 2:09.83
- Wroblewski also swam to a third place finish in the 400 IM, at 4:38.08
- Dunnigan was also fourth in the 200 backstroke, with a time of 2:08.86
- Young took a third place finish with a time of 2:27.72 in the 200 breaststroke
- Megan Dunnigan was fourth in the 100 backstroke, swimming 59.43, .05 seconds in front of Katrine O'Leary who placed fifth
RELAYS
- Milhomens (55.95), Cowing (54.91), Dunnigan (54.43), and Spaciano (53.77) combined to go 3:39.06 to take second in the 400 freestyle relay
