Swimming And Diving Opens Season With Double Dual
Blue Devils took on Army and Vermont Friday evening
The Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team opened the 2024-25 season with a double-dual meet versus Army and Vermont in West Point, N.Y.
The Blue Devils return to the pool October 25-26th when they host New Hampshire at Suydam Natatorium. The Friday portion of the meet begins at 5:00 pm, while the Saturday portion begins at 11:00 am.

RELAYS
- The 200-medley relay team of Sophie Milhomens, Grace Young, Megan Dunnigan, and Katrine O'Leary posted a swim of 1:51.85, good for sixth place
- O'Leary, Lauryn Cowing, Gabby Spaciano, and Dunnigan teamed up for a sixth-place finish at 1:40.44 in the 200-free relay
DIVING
- Kaitlyn Carroll scored 226.05 points on the 3-meter board, good for fourth place
- Jewelle Maziarz scored 235.50 points on the 1-meter board, placing second
- Carroll tallied 198.55, good for fifth on the low board and Zoe Baker scored 194.90 points, to finish sixth
FREESTYLE
- Abbey Keane snagged fifth in the 1,000, going 10:45.48
- Spaciano touched seventh in the 200, with a swim of 1:58.29
- O'Leary was the fifth-place finisher in the 50 free, going 24.93
- Spaciano earned sixth place in the 100, with a swim of 54.53
- Maggie Rutledge finished seventh in the 500, swimming 5:18.29
STROKES
- Milhomens took fifth in the 100 backs, touching at 59.57
- Young earned seventh in the 100 breast, with a swim of 1:11.20
- Milhomens was fourth in the 200 back, at 2:07.37, .07 out of second place
- Young was seventh in the 200 breast, with a swim of 2:32.82
