Three From Women's Soccer Earn All-NEC Honors
Kiley Yepes, Leah Howe and Riley Powers Recognized For Their Fine Play In 2024
The Northeast Conference announced its 2024 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon, and three Blue Devils were recognized with honors for their fine play during this season.
Defender Kiley Yepes (Jr., West Hartford, Conn.) earned a spot on the All-NEC Second Team in a vote of league coaches; while Leah Howe (Fr., Hainesport, N.J.) and Riley Powers (R-Fr., Newton, Conn.) were named to the Northeast Conference's All-Rookie Team.
Yepes made a positive impact for CCSU all over the pitch in 2024, as she helped direct the defense plus chipped in three goals for a total of six points on offense. Those three goals tied for second on the team in that category in 2024.
Howe was stellar all season long in her collegiate soccer debut playing a big part in Central's defensive structure, and she finished second on the team in assists with a total of four helpers in 2024.
In her first season of soccer in New Britain, Powers starred up front for the Blue Devils, as she finished tied for the team lead in points this year with eight points on three goals and two assists. Powers' three goals in 2024 slotted her second on CCSU in that category. Riley was selected as the NEC Rookie of the Week once in 2024.
