
Ciara Crinion '10 Coaches US U15 Team to CONCACAF Gold
Two-time All-NEC First Team honoree played four seasons for Blue Devils soccer
Central Connecticut State almunus Ciara Crinion '10 coached the US U15 Girls to the gold medal at the 2024 CONCACAF Girls' U-15 Championship on Sunday (read more). The US side defeated Mexico 3-0 in the championship match, after defeating Canada in the semifinal.
Crinion was a four-year member of the Blue Devils women's soccer team, twice earning First-Team All-NEC. She played a role in the 2008 Northeast Conference Championship run, and a 2009 NEC regular season crown. Crinion graduated from Central in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Health Promotion and went on to earn a Master of Science in Recreation & Sports Sciences and Master's in Soccer Coaching from Ohio University in 2017.
Crinion was named the head coach of the U-15 squad in May 2023 (read more) after more than 10 years coaching at the Division I ranks, including as head coach at Seton Hall from 2019-22. Since 2017, Crinion has scouted and run Talent ID Centers for U.S. Soccer. She has also worked as an assistant coach with the U-20 WYNT. As a player, she was a part of the Ireland U-17 and U-19 Women's National Teams and spent four years playing at Central Connecticut State, twice earning all-conference honors.
The 2024 Blue Devils soccer team opens its campaign, looking to defend its 2023 NEC crown, on Sunday, August 18th when it hosts Fairfield at home. Game time on the CCSU Soccer Field is set for 7:00 pm.
