Women's Soccer Defeats Yale 2-0 on Thursday night
Junior Carla Jackson adds a goal and assist to help the Blue Devils defeat Yale 2-0.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team defeated Yale, 2-0, on Thursday night at CCSU Soccer Field. Junior Carla Jackson started the second half and figured in both goals with a goal and assist.
The Blue Devils move to 2-1-1 overall, while Yale is 1-2 on the year.
There was no score at the half, but CCSU opened scoring at the 55:36 mark when Jackson took a corner kick and looped a shot into the net from the corner to make it 1-0.
Less than two minutes later, Jackson worked a give and go with freshman Tiegan Ruddy, who notched her first career goal making it 2-0 at the 57:20 mark.
The Blue Devils played aggressively taking 20 shots on the night, while limiting Yale to just 10 shots.
Senior Ashley Cavanaugh made five saves for CCSU, while Alyssa Fagel made 10 saves for Yale.
The Blue Devils return to action when they travel to Temple on Sunday, Sept. 2, at 3:30 p.m.
