Cafferky Named NSCAA All-Region
Sophomore Jennifer Cafferky of the Central Connecticut women's soccer team was named to the 2015 NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Soccer All-Northeast Region Third Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Jennifer Cafferky of the Central Connecticut women's soccer team was named to the 2015 NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Soccer All-Northeast Region Third Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday afternoon. The two-time reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Year adds the honor to the growing list of accolades she has garnered in just two seasons while at CCSU.

Cafferky, a 5-10 center-back that came to New Britain from Boras, Sweden, has been a standout defender as a part of a Blue Devils' back four that has been tops in the Northeast Conference, surrendering 39 goals in 38 games over the past two seasons, including just 15 over 17 games in 2015. The sophomore started in all 14 games that she appeared in this season and the Blue Devils outscored their opponents 21-12 in those 14 games with Cafferky on the field. She also chipped in offensively in 2015 with a pair of goals.
In addition to the All-Region honor and two consecutive NEC Defensive Player of the Year awards, Cafferky was the 2014 NEC Rookie of the Year and has been named to the All-NEC First Team in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She also collected a pair of NEC Rookie of the Week awards during her freshman campaign.
