UConn graduate added to Kotowicz's staff at CCSU
Recent University of Connecticut graduate Jordan Christopher has been named an assistant coach for the Central Connecticut women's lacrosse program. The announcement was recently made by Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann and head women's lacrosse coach Tanya Kotowicz.
"Jordan is a tremendous addition to our staff at CCSU," Kotowicz said. "She has a tremendous knowledge of the game, relates well to our student-athletes and has already hit the ground running. She was a two-time captain at UConn and her leadership skills have been evident from the minute she stepped on the field with our team. We are excited to have Jordan on staff."
Christopher graduated from UConn in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and sociology. She was a member of the women's lacrosse team for five seasons, redshirting in 2013 and completing her playing career in 2014.
She was a member of the Big East All-Academic Team and was a two-time captain for the Huskies. She originally hails from Downingtown, PA and played her high school lacrosse at Villa Maria Academy.
Christopher scored 43 career goals and had 17 assists, good for 60 points, in her career for the Huskies. In 2011, as a sophomore, she posted career-highs of 12 goals, seven assists and 19 points. As a senior in 2014 she matched her career-high with 12 goals and added five assists, good for 17 points.
For her career she had 67 ground balls, 47 draw controls and 39 caused turnovers. She played in 64 career games.
"I am extremely excited about my first coaching opportunity and am thankful to Tanya for having the faith in me to help lead this program to success in the Northeast Conference," Christopher said. "We are going to build on the recent success of our women's lacrosse program and aim to be in the top of the league each and every season."
