Albany Tops Women's Lax on Saturday
Blue Devils will be at home again on Friday vs. Fairfield
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team fell to 1-4 overall on the season with a 21-3 loss on the road at the University at Albany on Saturday afternoon. Albany improved to 4-0 on the season with the victory. The Great Danes were receiving votes in the most recent national poll released this week.
The Blue Devils will return home for their next game hosting Fairfield on Arute Field on Friday at 5 p.m.
The Blue Devils held a 2-1 lead 10:06 into the first half on goals from junior Falynn McCartney and junior Elyse Malecki. The Great Danes responded and tallied the final 13 goals before halftime to build a 14-2 lead.
McCartney scored again for the Blue Devils to open the second half, but Albany would answer again. They held Central scoreless the remainder of the game and scored the final seven goals to secure their fourth win.
McCartney scored twice for the Blue Devils in the loss. Malecki had a goal and junior Madison Hughes added an assist.
Senior Morgan Tullar posted 16 saves in the loss, her highest total of the season. It marked the ninth time in her career that she has posted 15 or more saves in a game.
