Blue Devils Held off by Huskies, Tuesday
Central plays LIU Brooklyn in a double-header on April 19.
The Central Connecticut softball team fell to the University of Connecticut Huskies 6-0 on Tuesday in Storrs, CT.
CCSU falls to 15-18 overall and remains 2-6 in conference, while UConn improves to 16-24 on the season and is 4-8 in the American Athletic Conference.
Catcher Rian Eigenmann had one hit and eight put outs for Central and sophomore Sydney Bolan had two hits on her four at bats. Kristen Ulmer, Meg Dugas, and Alicia Bertolino also had one hit each for the Blue Devils.
Central gave up two runs in the third and then four runs in the fourth inning to the Huskies. All three pitchers saw time at the mound for CCSU. Freshman Kari Marks pitched three innings throwing three strike outs against 16 batters. Sophomore Ashley Antonazzo pitched the fourth inning and rookie Carley Stoker pitched the final two innings for the Blue Devils, also throwing three strikeouts.
