Saturday Games Cancelled, Softball Hosts Nor'Eastern Classic Sunday
CCSU will play a pair of games on Sunday against Rider in New Britain.
The Central Connecticut softball team will co-host the Nor'Eastern Classic Tournament with Hartford on Sunday, March 24. Due to weather conditions, the games planned for Saturday have been cancelled.
There will be four games played at the CCSU Softball Field on Sunday. Maine will face off against Iona at 9 a.m. followed by CCSU against Rider at 11 a.m. In the afternoon, Boston Univeristy with play Iona at 1 p.m. and the day will conclude with Central's second game against Rider at 3 p.m.
The Blue Devils enter the weekend with an overall record of 7-10. Sophomore Sydney Bolan leads the team with a .377 batting average and has a team-high five home runs and 17 RBIs.
Rider is currently 1-18 overall and looks to break its five-game skid this weekend against Central. Sam Ward leads Rider with a .280 batting average and has four RBIs on the year.
