Hrezi and Alexander Set School Records at IC4A's
The Central Connecticut men's track team set a pair of records on Sunday at the IC4A Championships. Sophomore Mohamed Hrezi and junior Sam Alexander each set a school record today in their event. Hrezi set his record in the 800 meters and Alexander in the 5,000 meters.
The Central Connecticut men's track team set a pair of records on Sunday at the IC4A Championships. Sophomore Mohamed Hrezi and junior Sam Alexander each set a school record today in their event. Hrezi set his record in the 800 meters and Alexander in the 5,000 meters.
Hrezi posted a time of 1:51.09 on Saturday in the 800 meter prelims, that time qualified him for today's final heat. Today, he posted a school record performance of 1:50.99. That mark earned him a seventh place finish and the Blue Devils only team points.
Alexander finished 16th in the 5,000 after posting a school record mark of 14:34.47. Also, competing for the Blue Devils today were juniors Rashad Williams and Nick Trifone.
Williams posted a best throw of 16.15 meters (53') on the day placing him ninth. Also, on the infield was Trifone who posted a best jump of 2.04 meters (6' 8.25"), to finish 11th.
The IC4A's are the final meet of the Blue Devils indoor season, but the team will return to action outside later this month.
