Junior Matt Berube Sets School Record in the Heptathlon
Central Connecticut junior Matt Berube set a new CCSU record for the Heptathlon on Saturday at the Harvard Multi Meet. Berube earned an eighth place finish with 4,514 points, his mark is the top performance in CCSU men's track history.
Central Connecticut junior Matt Berube set a new CCSU record for the Heptathlon on Saturday at the Harvard Multi Meet. Berube earned an eighth place finish with 4,514 points, his mark is the top heptathlon performance in CCSU men's track history.
Berube performed well in all seven events of the heptathlon. On the track he ran the 60 meter dash in 7.34 seconds, finished the 60 meter hurdles in 8.73 seconds and ran the 1,000 meters in 3:01.48.
In the field events Berube threw the shot put 9.01 meters, high jumped 6' 2.25", long jumped 22' 6.25", and cleared 10' 2" in the pole vault.
The Central Connecticut track team will return to action Friday at the Yale Giegengack Invitational.
