Men's Track Earns a Pair of NEC Weekly Awards
Central Connecticut sophomore Aaron Radden and freshman Denzell Jones were each recognized by the Northeast Conference for their performance this week. Radden was named Co-NEC Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Jones receives the NEC Rookie of the Week honor for the first time following his performance in the High Jump at the Great Dane Classic.

Radden was named Co-NEC Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Jones receives the NEC Rookie of the Week honor for the first time following his performance in the High Jump at the Great Dane Classic.
Radden, the reigning NEC Champion in the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter, ran a 21.41 in the 200 meters at the Great Dane Classic, that time earned him the victory at the meet. His time is the lowest by an NEC performer this season and is the 26th best in the NCAA this season. Radden also earned a third place finish in the 60 meter dash, with a time of 6.90 seconds.
Jones earned third place in the high jump at the Great Dane Classic. The 6' 6" rookie cleared 2.01 meters (6' 7") on his best jump of the day. Jones best jump of the season came early this season when he cleared 2.04 meters (6' 8.75"). A two sport athlete, Jones passed for 78 yards and a touchdown as a quarterback for Central's NEC Champion football team.
Both Radden and Jones have already met the qualifying marks for the IC4A Championships.
Radden is a native of Waterbury, CT, where he attended Sacred Heart High School. Jones is also from Connecticut, he attended Bloomfield High School.
The Central Connecticut track and field teams will return to action on Friday at the Boston Indoor Games.
