Williams Sets School Record for the Shot Put at Army
The Central Connecticut track team opened its 2011 season at the Army Carleton Crowell Open. Rashad Williams opened his season with a record setting performance. The junior thrower opened his season with a 16.51M throw that set a new CCSU shot put record.
The Central Connecticut track team opened its 2011 season at the Army Carleton Crowell Open. Rashad Williams opened his season with a record setting performance. The junior thrower opened his season with a 16.51M throw that set a new CCSU shot put record, he also finished second in the wieght throw with a toss of 16.32M.
On the track junior Sam Alexander finished first in the 1 Mile run with a time of 4:27.87. Dan Hopper finished second in the 500M run with a time of 1:07.92. In sprints junior Aaron Radden won the 60M dash with a time of 6.94, he also won the 200M with a time of 22.06.
The Blue Devil women's team recieved solid performances from a group of runners. Freshman Elizabeth Eberhardt finished first in the 1 Mile run, senior Katherine Bossardet finished second in the event with times of 5:27.80 and 5:28.36, respectively.
Kate McGuire finished fourth in the 500M run with a time of of 1:23.07, teammate Shavonne Dash finished right behind McGuire with a time of 1:25.03. On the sprint track Shanakaye led the Blue Devils with a second place finish, she ran an 8.08 in the 60M dash.
