Women's Golf Tops Sacred Heart and Fairfield on Sunday
Blue Devils shot 328 to win by three strokes on Sunday
The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a team score of 328 and topped Sacred Heart (331) and Fairfield (333) on Sunday in a match held at Great River Golf Course in Milford, CT. Senior Sarah Boden tied for first place overall with a score of 80. The round was played with 15-20 winds battling the players for most of the day.
Boden shot 43 on the front nine and rebounded for a 37 on the back nine to take medalist honors along with Olivia Brooks from Fairfield and Ellen Nighbor of Sacred Heart.
Sophomore Tara Whelan shot 41-40 for a score of 81, while junior Ella Williams fired a 42-41 for an 83. Sophomore Cecy Gutierrez shot 84 (41-43) and junior Kaitlyn Stoddart fired a 41-50 for a score of 91 for the Blue Devils.
